Once upon a time in Verona, there were two families: the Montagues and the Capulets. They hated each other and always fought. The Montagues had a handsome son, Romeo. And the Capulets had a beautiful daughter, Juliet.
许久以前，在维罗纳有两大家族一蒙特鸠与凯普莱特。他们彼此憎恨并总争吵不休。蒙特鸠家族里有个英俊的儿子－罗密欧；凯普莱特则育有一个美丽的女儿－朱丽叶。
One evening, Mr. Capulet held a party for Juliet. Romeo's friend Mercutio heard about it and asked Romeo to go with him. When they arrived, Romeo saw a lovely girl. Mercutio warned him, "Stay away from her. She is Juliet Capulet." Romeo thought, "How can I fall in love with the daughter of my family's enemy?"
某日晚间，凯普莱特先生为朱丽叶举办了一场派对。罗密欧的朋友莫库修听闻了这个消息而要罗密欧与他一同前往。当他们抵达时，罗密欧见着一名美貌少女。莫库修警告他：「离她远一点，她是朱丽叶．凯普莱特。」罗密欧心想：「我怎么能爱上我家族死对头的女儿呢？」
