We do begin here with breaking news in New York City a chaotic scene unfolding at this hour in Midtown Manhattan.
Police say a gunman opened fire late today on Park Avenue on the city's east side. Tonight ABC News obtaining an image of the suspected gunman a man in a suit and sunglasses armed with a long gun.
We're told at least two people have been shot an off-duty NYPD officer and a civilian the alleged shooter then entering an office building the headquarters of the NFL and Blackstone Group and investment firm employees racing from the building with their hands up in the air those inside told the shelter in place.
ABC's Juju Chang leading us off tonight right here in New York.
Tonight at least three people are dead including an off-duty officer after a horrific shooting in Midtown Manhattan inside the Park Avenue headquarters of the NFL and Blackstone Group.
Sources telling ABC News the suspected gunman seen here with a long gun and sunglasses walked into the building and open fire employees told to shelter in place barricading themselves inside offices with furniture our Will Reeve on the scene.

Here on Park Avenue just block south of the building where it happened. There is a wall of light and sound an overwhelming response from emergency services.

We heard multiple shots go off in quick succession from the first floor and a lot of us just rush into the room.
Armed officers racing in behind the suspect conducting a floor-by-floor search police say the suspect apparently barricaded himself on the 33rd floor and was later found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

We turn to the other news here tonight and the life-threatening heat gripping much of the country more than 200 million Americans on alert from New York City right down to Florida from New Orleans over to Raleigh the heat index when you factor in the heat and the humidity combined expected to be well above 100 across the eastern half of the country.

Authorities tonight are calling this a long-duration heat wave the heat building from day to day with little relief at night, New York City this evening activating a heat emergency plan.
Tonight several states also bracing for storms and dangerous winds, New York City, Philadelphia, Boston with worsening conditions tomorrow.
So meteorologist Jeff Smith has the forecast and here's ABC's Victor Oquendo.
Tonight a life-threatening long-duration heat wave has 200 million Americans desperate for relief.

Back in New York City authorities activating their heat emergency plan opening cooling centers and keeping city pools open later.
The heat and humidity also a perfect recipe for severe storms multiple tornadoes touching down in the upper Midwest Sunday this one in Watertown South Dakota.
And David there is no relief here in Savannah tonight, even at midnight. The heat index is still 90 degrees that just makes the body work harder to keep cool and this goes all the way up the East Coast tomorrow, New York City will feel like 104 David.

Let's get right to meteorologist Jeff Smith from our New York station WABC Jeff great to have you it gets even worse tomorrow.
Yeah, David these heat advisories continue in the New York City area right through Wednesday, but this is such an extreme and wide-ranging heat wave across much of the central and eastern part of the country extreme heat warnings in these purple areas.
We're talking St. Louis all the way down to Jackson, Mississippi, New Orleans Savannah up to Raleigh heat index values could be a hundred and ten to in some cases a hundred and twenty degrees in these areas.
Check out what it will feel like Tuesday afternoon some eye-popping numbers Memphis a hundred and fourteen Little Rock a hundred and eleven Savannah a hundred and ten and we do not get much relief at all across the southeast right through the latter part of the week.
In the Northeast we'll get relief from storms by Thursday into Friday those storms right now firing up over eastern South Dakota moving into parts of Minnesota Northern Iowa could be damaging winds of 75 to 90 miles per hour David

07:07 At least 2 children dead after barge crashes into in sailboat off Miami
Tonight authorities are on the scene of a deadly boating accident two children thrown off a boat killed others also thrown off that boat in critical condition tonight.
It happened off Miami Beach. The image is coming in now authorities say a barge struck a sailboat with five children and one adult on board throwing them all overboard sinking the sailboat rescue teams including multiple divers racing to try to rescue the children ABC's Perry Russom is in Miami tonight.
Tonight two children are dead after a barge slammed into a sailboat off Miami Beach causing the sailboat to sink.

Divers frantically searching Biscayne Bay near Hibiscus Island out around 11:30 this morning pulling victims from the water one by one.
Authorities say that barge rammed into and over the sailboat tossing six people including five children overboard setting off a massive rescue effort.
All the kids went flying off two were found really quickly and three of them they had to go to the hospital.
Those children all part of a youth sailing camp the one adult on board a female counselor.
Because this was all hands on deck all units responded they immediately started to render aid and pull these victims out of the water.

In addition to the two dead two of the other sailors are in critical condition tonight officials say the sailboat remains submerged under the barge
and tonight the Miami Yacht Club confirming the crash involved participants from their youth sailing foundation
the Yacht Club says their priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved
As the investigation gets started we're learning new information from the Coast Guard they say the children killed are two girls ages 7 and 13 years old

There is also breaking news coming in from Nevada tonight a deadly shooting outside the casino in Reno authorities say the gunman opening fire in the valet parking area authorities revealing more just moments ago. So let's get right to ABC's Trevor Ault.

What have we learned Trevor?
Well David we just heard from authorities that three people are dead and three more were shot and injured after a man with a handgun walked up to the valet area of the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno and opened fire on a group of people. They say he tried to flee. He was confronted by security and by police officers.
They say he opened fire on them as well. They returned fire arrested him at the scene and he was taken to the hospital. Now a motive is not yet clear, but they did say he had multiple magazines on him at the time.
This could have been far worse and the resort says they are heartbroken by this senseless violence. David

Now to President Trump on the world stage the Jeffrey Epstein controversy following him the president with British Prime Minister negotiating tariffs, but pressed today by reporters and Jeffrey Epstein and convicted co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell who just met with the Justice Department over two days.
The president saying he is allowed to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell and then describing what led to his falling-out with Jeffrey Epstein.

Well, I'm allowed to give her a pardon, but I nobody's approached me with it. Nobody's asked me about it.
It's in the news about that that aspect of it. But right now it would be inappropriate to talk about it.
Trump and Epstein were friends for more than a decade socializing in New York and Palm Beach.
Today the president said he never accepted an invitation to visit Epstein's private Caribbean Island where underage girls were allegedly trafficked for sex.
I've never had the privilege of going to his Island and I did turn it down. But a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his Island in one of my very good moments.
I turned it down. I didn't want to go to his Island.
When Epstein was arrested in 2019. Trump said they hadn't spoken in 15 years today.
The president describing what led to their falling-out that Epstein had hired Trump employees from Mar-a-Lago.
Stole people that work for me. I said don't ever do that again. He did it again and I threw him out of the place persona non grata.

David. We still don't know what information Ghislaine Maxwell may have provided to the deputy attorney general, but we do know she is serving a 20-year prison sentence and she wants out David.

This evening amid the devastating images coming out of Gaza President Trump tonight saying this is real starvation after Israel's claim there is no famine.
President Trump tonight saying you can't fake that Rachel Scott traveling with the president in Scotland.
Tonight the world seeing images like these desperate families in Gaza reaching through bars begging for food.
President Trump on the world stage saying yes, the people of Gaza are starving and the United States will step in to help.
I mean some of those kids are that's real starvation stuff.
I see it and you can't fake that. So we're going to be even more involved.
The Hamas run Health Ministry says 147 people have died from famine and malnutrition 88 of them children.
Today in Gaza City this mother carrying home a single bowl of thin soup for three children then gathering around to eat but is really Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists. There is no starvation.
I don't know. I mean based on television.
I would say not particularly because those children look very hungry, but we're giving a lot of money and a lot of food and other nations are now stepping up.
The president today also turning up the heat on Russia's Vladimir Putin. He had given Putin 50 days until early December to make a peace deal with Ukraine. He's now moving up that deadline.
I'm going to make a new deadline of about 10 10 or 12 days from today. There's no reason in waiting. It's 50 days.
I want to be generous, but we just don't see any progress being made.
The president has threatened to hit Russia with quote very severe tariffs. He's also wielding tariffs to negotiate trade deals.
Overnight unveiling a new agreement with the European Union as part of the deal.
The EU will buy American military equipment and 750 billion dollars worth of American energy and they will drop all tariffs on most American goods.
The US however will impose a 15% tariff on most European products we import including cars pharmaceuticals and computer chips.
Economists warn American businesses will pay those tariffs and pass the cost along to consumers by raising prices.
Another big part of why the president is here is to promote the family business. The president holding all of these meetings at the Trump family golf courses and tomorrow he'll cut the ribbon on a new one in Aberdeen David.

Tonight we have new video here showing the moment that Good Samaritans confronted the suspect accused of stabbing 11 people ABC. Mola Lenghi is in Traverse City, Michigan tonight.

Tonight you're watching the moment police say these Good Samaritans jumped into action to take down a knife-wielding suspect who went on a random stabbing spree at a Walmart in Michigan one man seen here pointing a gun at the suspect yelling at him to drop the knife allegedly used to injure 11 people including a Walmart employee.
Derek Perry is the man holding the gun now being hailed a hero in an interview with ABC News Perry a husband father and former Marine says anyone would have done what he did.
I didn't think of anything other than trying to get him away from people and get him isolated and get him to put the knife down and just to kind of focus on me and instead of everyone that was yelling and screaming in the background.
Today the suspect 42 year old Bradford James Gilly appearing in court now charged with terrorism and 11 counts of assault with the intent to murder after police say he entered the Walmart around 4 p.m. Saturday and began attacking people near the checkout area with this folding knife that has a three and a half inch blade.
It seemed like all of the people who got stabbed and got attacked were people who couldn't physically get out of his way like people in wheelchairs.
Well of the 11 injured the worst off were six initially in critical condition. Tonight David all six have been upgraded and are said to be doing better.

The horror unfolding Saturday as Clinton Brink and his wife Kristen were under attack with their daughters ages 7 and 9 nearby at the Devil's Den State Park south of Fayetteville.

Police reporting that the suspect fled in a black four-door sedan possibly a Mazda with his license plate covered by heavy duct tape.

Police have yet to say exactly how the couple was killed so many unanswered questions.
But what they do know is someone incredibly dangerous is still at large. David.
