I'm celebrating Thanksgiving for the first time this year! Mr. Smith, my English teacher, taught us about this holiday. In 1620, the first group of English Pilgrims arrived in America. Many of them died of hunger. But the Native Americans taught them to hunt and grow crops. To thank the Native Americans, the Pilgrims had a feast with them. Mr. Smith explained, "That's why many American families celebrate Thanksgiving today."
