Ronald is buying his old pal, Agatha, a drink:

A: What’s that in your wallet? You still have your ex’s picture! Ronald, Heather dumped you a year ago.

R: Don’t rub it in. I just can’t stop thinking about what could have been – I know it sounds cheesy, but I truly believe she was my soul mate.

A: There are plenty more fish in the sea, Ronald; it’s time you moved on.

R: But Heather was perfect; if I’m obsessing over her, it’s because I’ll never find anyone else like her.

A: You’ll never find anyone else, period! How can you expect to get over her if you keep her picture in your wallet?

R: I threw away everything else that reminded me of her.

A: Destroying the evidence is a good start, but the key to blowing out an old flame is self-deception.

R: You mean by focusing on Heather’s not-so-attractive attributes – telling myself she wasn’t so perfect after all?

A: Right. Do that and you won’t pine for her so much – you’ve got to remove those rose-tinted glasses!

R: Hmm….well, Heather did use to clip her toenails in bed …… and drool in her sleep.

A: There you go! Keep that up and you’ll soon be hardly able to bear the thought of her!
