You’ve been working around the clock trying to close that big business deal. Exhausted, you decide to treat yourself to a one-week holiday. You need to unwind, but you want to do it in style. Hua Hin, Thailand, an upscale getaway for the business traveler located just three hours south of Bangkok, is surely your best choice.

Hua Hin, Thailand’s oldest resort, is located along the beautiful shore of the Gulf of Thailand, and has been a getaway for Thailand’s aristocrats and royalty since the nineteenth century. But Hua Hin’s development really took off after the construction of a railroad link with Bangkok in 1911. Inspired by Hua Hin’s peace and solitude, King Rama VII built a summer palace there, the Klai Klangwon, which means “far from worry.” The palace is still used by the royal family as a summer vacation home, but it’s also open to the public at times.

Hua Hin is also home to Thailand’s first resort hotel, The Railway, which opened in 1923. Designed in a traditional Thai architectural style, this five-star hotel, now known as the Sofitel Central Hua Hin, is surrounded by a tranquil exotic tropical garden that features flora trimmed into elephant shapes. This getaway is truly an ideal resort for the business traveler in need of some pampering.

Today Hua Hin is a quiet seaside resort which boasts, among other things, several world-class golf courses. Thailand’s premier golf course, the Royal Hua Hin, was designed by Scottish railway engineer A.O. Robins in 1924. This “aristocrat” of golf courses is situated in an exquisite tropical setting – complete with wild monkeys and brilliant vistas of the Gulf of Thailand.

华欣现今是个宁静的海滨度假圣地，尤以拥有几座世界级的高尔夫球场而自豪。泰国最顶级的高尔夫球场「皇家华欣」是苏格兰铁路工程师罗宾斯在1924年所设计，这个「贵族」级的高尔夫球场座落在一个风景优美的热带环境，里面可以看到野生的猴子及暹罗湾绝妙的景观。

While off the fairway, you can relax on Hua Hin Beach. This quiet, five-kilometer stretch of white sand beach is ideal for an afternoon of sunbathing. Towards evening, you might even discover a local Thai masseuse, who can ease your aches and pains with a traditional Thai massage.

If sports suit your fancy, be sure to check out the Grand Sport Stadium on Phetkasern Road for a night of Muay Thai, or Thai kickboxing. Whatever activities you partake in, after a week in regal Hua Hin you will be revitalized, recharged, and ready to close that next big deal.
