Screamadelic ! Taiwan’s Spring Scream Music Festival 惊声尖叫魔幻秀：春天！吶喊！音乐！

For the past nine years, Taiwan’s music fans have rolled down to beautiful Kenting National Park during the Chingming holiday for some sun, fun, and most of all, great music. Traditionally held on the Liufu Ranch just outside Kenting, Spring Scream, which features four concurrent stages that offer the most enthusiastic cross-section of rock, hip hop, pop, and electronic music around, has a carnival-like atmosphere. In addition, Spring Scream usually includes a small film festival, skateboarding activities, great food, and reasonable prices all around.

Along with Taiwan’s best musicians, Spring Scream attracts bands from Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Japan. Last year, festival organizers substantially improved stage tents and sound amplification, giving the festival an increasingly polished presentation. This year – the festival’s tenth – favorites like Japanese jam masters Miracle Saru, Hong Kong’s Vibration, and the outrageous band Mimie Chan are expected to return.

除了台湾的优秀乐手外，春天吶喊也吸引来自香港、菲律宾、及日本的乐团。去年，主办单位还大大地补强舞台帐篷及音响的效果，让那场盛事质感愈显不凡。今年的春天吶喊是第十届，日本的爵士大师奇迹猿、香港的Vibration及搞怪团体Mimie Chan等观众最喜爱的乐团预计都将共襄盛举。

There’s been confusion in recent years between Spring Scream and the numerous raves organized on the same weekend. Don’t be confused! These sweaty events, and their encounters with the police, have nothing to do with Spring Scream, which is a community-oriented event where families, locals, and foreigners come together. This year, be sure to slip on your blue suede shoes and trek way down south to ring in a decade of Spring Scream.
