What’s in a name? Surnames can tell a lot about a person. They can tell us ___1___ a person’s ancestors came from and even reveal their occupation. For those of us ___2___ family history, most genealogists will agree that the surname is the best place to begin research.

Certain North American surnames reveal clues as to where families may come from.
