Taiwan Triumphs at IBAF 12U Baseball World Championship   世界少棒锦标赛 中华队夺冠

Tianmu Baseball Stadium in Taipei played host to the championship final of the IBAF 12U Baseball World Championship on Sunday, July 17th. The game pitted the host team, Taiwan, against Cuba, which had previously defeated Taiwan in the opening game of the tournament.

世界少棒锦标赛冠军赛于7月17日（星期日）在台北天母棒球场举行。由地主队中华少棒队迎战先前在开幕战中击败过中华队的古巴队。

Taiwan took the lead 1-0 in the top of the second inning, but the lead was short-lived as Cuba tied the score in the bottom half with a solo home run. The turning point in the game came in the next inning, when Taiwan’s Wan Chao-ching hit a triple to right field, driving home runners from first and third base.

二局上半，中华队就以一支阳春全垒打在二局下半追平比分。三局上半，中华队的万昭清击出一支右外野方向的三垒安打，将一、三垒的跑者送回本垒连得两分，堪称这场比赛的转折点。

Cuba was able to come within a run of tying the game at three in the sixth and final inning, but Taiwan’s starting pitcher, Tseng Wei-en, closed the door with his amazing performance, earning a complete game victory. Following the victory, President Ma Ying-jeou called coach Wu Ying-syh to congratulate the team, calling the win “the best present to Taiwan’s baseball.”

古巴队原本有机会在第六局，也就是最后一局时扭转局势，以一分之差追平比数，但是中华队先发投手曾伟恩以令人激赏的球技关闭了敌队逆转的希望大门，取得完投胜。总统马英九在中华队得冠后随即致电球队教练吴映赐祝贺球队获胜，并称这个冠军为「台湾棒坛最好的礼物」。

Terrorist Attacks Shock Norway    恐怖攻击震撼挪威

Norway was sent reeling in late July when a pair of terror attacks left over 70 people dead and over 100 more injured. The attacks, a bomb blast in the government district of the capital city, Oslo, and a shooting rampage at a youth camp organized by the ruling Labor Party on Utoya Island, were both carried out by Anders Breivik on Friday, July 22nd. The 32-year-old man released a lengthy manifesto just before the attacks, which stated that he believed Norway was being taken over by Muslims. By his actions he hoped to start an anti-Muslim revolution across Europe.

七月底，两起造成超过70人死亡、100多人受伤的恐怖攻击事件震撼了挪威。这两起发生在7月22日（星期五）的恐怖攻击事件分别是首都奥斯陆的政府行政区爆炸案，以及乌托亚岛的青年夏令营枪击血案。该夏令营由挪威现在执政的劳工党主办。两起事件皆由安德斯．布雷维克所为。这名32岁的凶嫌在作案前曾发表一篇相当冗长的宣言，内容描述他深信现在的挪威正由穆斯林接管，而凶嫌希望藉由这次的恐怖行动发起全欧洲的反穆斯林革命。

Breivik readily surrendered to police on Utoya Island, hours after his attacks. He was wearing a police uniform and carrying several guns, and still had ammunition left when he gave himself up. Breivik was immediately put into solitary confinement, and as of late July was awaiting trial on charges of terrorism. He is expected to plead not guilty.

布雷维克在乌托亚岛上行凶数小时后，欣然地向警方投降。他投降时身穿警察制服，并携带数把枪枝及弹药。布雷维克随即遭到单独监禁，并面临七月底控诉他从事恐怖行动的审判。一般认为他会辩称自己无罪。
