Les Misérables is a French novel by Victor Hugo. It's one of the most important novels of the 19th century. It's a story about Jean Valjean. Valjean used to be a prisoner. When he leaves jail, he tries to change and become a good person.
《悲惨世界》是维克多．雨果撰写的法文小说，而它是19世纪最重要的小说之一。这本着作是描述尚．万强一生的故事。尚．万强曾经是个囚犯，出狱后，他竭尽所能蜕变成一个好人。
Valjean helps Fantine, a poor young woman, and looks after her daughter, Cosette. When Cosette grows up, she marries Marius. Valjean saves Marius when he fights against the army. In the end, Valjean dies a happy man, knowing that he did many good things in his life.
