"Xiangsheng" (相声) is a traditional style of Chinese stand-up comedy. There are usually two performers. They take turns telling witty jokes. Yet, a professional theater group, Comedians Workshop, took Xiangsheng to the next level by adding drama to its shows. Yi-Kang Feng (冯翊纲) and Shao-Ching Sung (宋少卿) formed this group when they were university students in 1988. Comedians Workshop started as a simple student production. Today, it performs more than 100 shows a year! Feng and Sung combine traditional and modern humor, making it relevant to today's youth. It's easy to see why more and more people love this new take on classical art.
「相声」是中国传统形式的脱口秀；通常会有两位表演者，他们轮流讲述着机趣横生的笑话。然而，专业剧团－「相声瓦舍」以加入戏剧表演方式将相声带至另一个层级。冯翊纲与宋少卿，在1988年还是大学生时期成立此团体。「相声瓦舍」始于一个单纯的学生剧团，而今日，一年则有超过百场的演出！冯翊纲与宋少卿结合传统和现代的幽默，使之贴近现今的青年。因此，显而易见地，愈来愈多人喜爱这门崭新风貌的古典艺术。
