His popular works range from horror and science fiction to romance, and his talent has made him one of the most read writers in Taiwan.

Giddens has written more than 70 novels under the pen name Nine Knives (九把刀). He realized he was interested in writing when he wrote a short story as part of his graduate school application, and decided to become the “King of Stories.”
柯景腾已经以九把刀为笔名撰写超过70本小说。当他撰写一篇短篇故事作为申请硕士的部分资料的时候，他发现自己对写作充满兴趣，并决定要成为『故事之王』。
Giddens first put his stories online. But when he tried to sell them he was given the cold shoulder in the publishing world. However, this didn’t get him down, and he started out on an ambitious project. For 14 months, he wrote 5,000 words a day and put out one novel each month. This helped him become a better writer. In fact, some of his novels from this period became bestsellers, and launched Giddens Ko’s career as a novelist.
柯景腾一开始将他的小说放在网络上。但是当他试着卖出小说时，出版界给他吃了闭门羹。然而，这件事没有击倒他，而让他展开一项更有野心的计划。有14个月，他每天写5千字，并每个月出版一本小说。这项经验使他成为更好的作家。事实上，他在这段时期写的部分小说成为畅销书，开启柯景腾的小说家生涯。

Giddens Ko’s motto is “Life is an endless fight,” and he is always seeking new challenges. He wasn’t satisfied with being a successful novelist, so he set a new goal: get his novels to appear on the big screen.
柯景腾的座右铭是『人生就是不停的战斗』，而他不断在追寻新挑战。他不仅满足于当一位成功的小说，所以他设下一个新目标：让他的小说跃上大屏幕。
When the movie You Are the Apple of My Eye came out in 2011, it turned Giddens from a celebrated author into a successful director. He directed the film and adapted one of his most personal and well-received stories, which showed his own romantic experiences as a teenager. The plot touched the hearts of many people and reminded them of their immature youth. It made NT$100 million in its first four days at the Taiwanese box office. Keen to repeat his success, Giddens is now producing an action movie, Kung Fu (功夫).
当电影《那些年，我们一起追的女孩》在2011年上映，它让柯景腾由知名作家转型为成功的导演。他执导这部电影并改编他最私人并深受好评的故事之一。这个故事呈现他青少年时期的爱情经验，剧情感动许多人的心，并让他们想起惨绿少年时光。电影上映的前四天在台湾就创造台币一亿元的票房。亟欲复制他的成功经验，柯景腾现在正在执导一部动作片《功夫》。
Giddens always believed that he was good enough to be successful as a writer, even when publishers rejected his novels. His life story proves that no matter how crazy your dream seems, persistence is the key to achieving it.
