Why would people want to strap a metal tank on their back, stick a big plastic tube in their mouth, and put on a set of tight-fitting clothes? That’s because they want to scuba-dive. Sound like a hassle? It is worth it! Just swim with giant turtles and colorful fish once, and you’ll be hooked.

Before you can enjoy scuba diving, however, you need at least twenty hours of training. Scuba diving is incredibly fun, but it should not be taken lightly. To avoid serious accidents, you need to clearly understand the force of the pressure that is exerted deep underwater. Many diving schools offer weekend classes to instruct people how to dive and to correctly use the equipment.

An air vest and a weight belt help to maintain neutral buoyancy. You will also need a mask and fins, and if the water is cold, a wet suit.

You will come to realize that the ocean is not just part of our world. It is a whole other world, and it is the privilege of scuba divers to visit it.
