An armored tank rolls onto a plate. A fighter jet flies overhead but suddenly crashes into a glass of chocolate milk. This isn’t the strangest battle scene of all time, but a child playing with miniature models at the dinner table. However, model planes and tanks are more than just children’s toys. Hobbyists put forth great effort to make and decorate models, creating a new world on a much smaller scale.

But experienced model builders accept a greater challenge, where components must be diligently sanded, glued, and then finally painted.
