I used to walk by shops and just dream about buying the cool things inside. Now I just go inside and buy whatever I want. This summer job has really paid off, and I’ve got the shoes, sunglasses, and jeans to prove it. And let me tell you something: I am looking good these days.
My job isn’t easy, but strolling through a night market with a pocket full of dollars makes it all worth it. My friends do get a little jealous when I flash my cash, but they don’t seem to mind when I treat them to some bubble tea.
My parents keep telling me to save money. They weren’t impressed with my expensive haircut at all. I know that saving is a smart thing to do, but every time I get paid, the money just burns a hole in my pocket. The only reason I got a job anyway was so I could buy stuff. Besides, I’m young, so I can save when I get older.

Buying Coolness
Does wearing one kind of jeans make you cool? A lot of teens seem to think so. They often spend much of their money on a single article of clothing or fashion accessory. But keeping up with fashion is costly because it changes often. More than that, high fashion is very expensive. Trying to look like a model in a fashion magazine is an endless pursuit, and it’s sure to empty your wallet.
There is more to this issue than just the money. Aside from the money required to keep you looking cool and trendy, what does constantly following fashion say about your personality? If you have a style that’s good for you, stick with it. Knowing who you are and being happy about it is more valuable than any expensive jacket. Following fashion is fun for some people, but don’t be afraid to follow the beat of your own drum.
