For a marvelous walk through the evolution of Chinese civilization, visit the National Palace Museum in Taipei’s Shilin district. This world-class museum holds priceless antiques, from jade carvings and bronze armor, to scenic paintings and elegant calligraphy. Its nearly 700,000 items are a record of over 8,000 years of history. There are ancient tools from the Neolithic age, and imperial treasures of the Qing Dynasty.
想来一趟非凡的中华文化发展之旅，那就要去参观位于台北市士林区的故宫博物院。这间世界级的博物馆坐拥无数稀世之珍，从玉雕到铜甲，山水画及优美的书法。将近70万件的展览品记录着超过8千年的历史。其中包括新石器时代的古老器具，还有清朝的帝王级宝物。
The museum’s collection is so large that only one percent of it is on display at any one time. To share the whole store of art with the public, museum curators rotate exhibits every three months. The bright side of this frequent change is that every visit to the museum is a unique experience.
