Joan, who is eight-and-a-half months pregnant, is wading in the ocean when her husband Doug suddenly shrieks:  已有八个月半身孕的琼恩正踏浪而行，她的丈夫道格突然尖声大叫：

D: My toe! Help me pry this crab off!

我的脚趾！帮我把这只螃蟹弄掉！

J: Be patient: anything we do will only make it tighten its grip. In the meantime, just breathe deep and try to think of this as a good omen.

忍耐一下：我们乱搞只会让它把蟹箝夹得更紧。这时候，只要做深呼吸，并试着把它当做一个好兆头。

D: Come again?

J: Well, our baby is going to be born under the sign of Cancer, right?

D: I got you. He’ll be a crab.

J: And if he or she is anything like my sister’s Cancer kid, he’ll be a pleasure to raise: sensitive and easy to manage.

D: I don’t remember that about your sister’s daughter at all. I remember a strong-willed and stubborn child. Rather like a crab. Ouch!

J: That’s the thing about crabs. They may come across as hard-headed, but you just have to find their soft spots.

D: Eureka! That’s it: get me a stick, and I’ll just jab this little sucker where he’s vulnerable!

J: Doug! Is that how you’d react if our little crab was stuck on something? Cancers are easily hurt. They mull over rejections and even the teensiest slights cause lasting wounds……
