A Canadian couple, Mary and Dan, are preparing a bedroom for the Taiwanese baby girl they are adopting:  一对加拿大夫妻，玛丽和唐，正在布置一间卧室给他们将从台湾收养的小女孩住：

M: Do you think she’ll like her blue room?

你想她会喜欢蓝色的房间吗？

D: You bet! The sky’s the limit for our baby, and stereotypes are out the window. Are you sure we’ve done everything we need to?

一定会！我们会为她做任何事，现在大家也不再有刻板印象了。妳确定我们该做的都顾到了吗？

M: Pretty sure. Our lawyer was approved by the jurisdictional Civil Administration Office. And we’ve given him power of attorney to register the adoption in the ROC courts for us. Everything’s fine.

很确定。具有管辖权的户政事务所已经准了我们的律师代理案。而且我们也给了他授权书替我们办好中华民国法院的领养登记。一切都没问题。

D: Hold on! Aren’t we supposed to have his power of attorney notarized at an ROC consulate or trade office?!

慢点！我们不是应该把授权书拿去中华民国的领事单位或贸易办事处先公证吗？

M: We did that at the trade office last week when we picked up the application our lawyer will file for us.

我们上星期去贸易办事处拿申请表时就办过了，而律师会替我们处理领养程序。

D: Right. He’s submitting our adoption application to our soon-to-be baby girl’s district Civil Administration Office. I’m just worried that we don’t have all the documents we need.

是哦。他会把领养申请表转去我们未来女儿所属的户政事务所。我只是担心缺少什么必备文件。

M: Our lawyer has everything Taiwan’s government requires: our identification, our signatures, our baby’s household registry, and her ROC identification. Plus, he’ll soon have the court order and the documentation of verification.

我们律师已经把台湾方面需要的文件都备齐了：我们的身份证明、签字、小孩的户口登记、和她的中华民国身份证明。很快他就会办妥法院裁定书和证明书了。

D: I guess I’m being a worrywart.

我想我太操心了。

M: It will all work out. Sweetie’s going to love it here.
