Cities can, at times, be gray, drab places without color or personality, where endless waves of identical high- rises give way to bleak industrial wastelands. However, this need not always be the case. The Let’s Color Project, which was spearheaded by the Dulux Paint Company, looks to add some ___1___ to our world one wall at a time.

The project began in May of 2010 when a few different paint companies from around the world decided to collaborate to beautify once ___2___ urban areas by transforming them into something uplifting for the community. In just a short time, the program has spread through places such as China, Turkey, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Brazil, ___3___ people have all experienced wall painting events in various cities. In each case, the use of bright colors has turned once forgettable surfaces into vivid and inspiring ___4___.

___5___ thing that brought this movement to the public’s attention was a music video called “Walls are Dancing.” With some ___6___ editing, the work of cutting-edge American mural artist Matt W. Moore in the French cities of Lyon, Marseilles, and Paris, was set to the music of a French duo called Monsieur Monsieur. The final product was a music video in which Moore’s images seem to dance and interact with one another just as people might on the dance floor. Though the video is less than three minutes long, this project ___7___ 700,000 images, 150 rolls of film, and about 300 liters of paint. The colorful result is nothing short of inspiring.
