Taiwan has a rich, diverse, and beautiful countryside, and the Society of Wilderness does everything it can to ensure things stay this way. In a way, the SOW is the voice of the natural world, helping it ___1___ when it comes under threat. Established in 1995, this non-governmental organization is run by everyday citizens and has 9,000 members. Education is of utmost importance to the SOW volunteers, who believe a person must understand the beauty of nature before they can truly begin to ___4___ its preservation.
