A study involving 1,200 British women aged 15-54 reveals that women who combine employment with motherhood and partnership are the healthiest. Conversely, stay-at-home women, or those without children or a partner, tend to be significantly less healthy. Thirty-eight percent of non-active women were reported as being obese, as opposed to 23% among the more active. Women who stay at home are likely to exercise less and eat more. Active women, on the other hand, are aware that in order to maintain their busy lifestyle, they need to keep healthy and therefore tend to take better care of themselves. It seems that the long-term health benefits of an active life outweigh the short-term stress from work.

Finally, a Suitable Home for Monet’s Lilies 终于，莫奈的睡莲有了适合的家
Built in 1852, Paris’s Musee de I’Orangerie has been home to Monet’s huge waterlily series since 1927. Six years ago, massive renovations at the museum were undertaken. However, as each of the eight paintings is two meters high, moving them was out of the question. Special boxes were therefore designed to protect them. The renovations were completed this year, and the Monets have been given pride of place. One gallery contains the four “sunrise” paintings, while another holds the four that represent “dusk.” Natural lighting allows the changing seasons outside to affect the mood of the lilies. After such a long wait, Monet’s famous lilies finally have a home worthy of their size.
