If you bought S.H.E.’s latest album, SHERO, you might have noticed the unusual, cloud-like dresses that Selina, Hebe, and Ella are wearing in the cover art. If that’s the case, you’re already ___1___ the creations of Johan Ku, a Taiwanese fashion designer with a refreshingly different aesthetic.

Ku was ___2___ in the Jingmei area of Taipei by his mother. At age 17, he started a career as a graphic designer, but this ambition was shortlived. Ku quickly realized he had a more artistic ___3___ in life, which prompted him to enroll as a fashion student. Over the course of his BA and MA studies, he won a multitude of fashion design awards. Ku’s signature sculptured dresses are made by knitting and crocheting very thick wool. With plans to return to – and conquer – the fashion capital, New York, and an autobiography already released, things are going from strength to strength.
