One day you are combing your hair, and suddenly you find a bald spot! For anyone, this would be an alarming discovery.

Far from the usual stereotype of only old people becoming bald, circular hair loss often strikes people between the age of 20 and 40. While men are the most common sufferers, women can also be vulnerable to losing their hair.
迥异于一般认为只有老年人才会秃头的刻板印象，圆形秃（鬼剃头）好发于20至40岁的人身上。尽管男性较常是秃头的受害者，但是女性也可能会有掉发的问题。
Although it has no single specific cause, hair loss sometimes happens along with serious changes to the immune system, like diabetes. As circular hair loss is not strictly related to age, it can affect a diverse range of people.

The good news is that people often recover their lost hair. A lot of times there is no reason to panic. Some people lose hair once, grow it back, and the problem is gone for good.Circular hair loss is unpredictable, however. For the less fortunate, they face the spread of baldness throughout much of their lives. While wearing wigs might help disguise the problem, the best solution may be to reduce their stress.
