Avoiding Food May Beat Jet Lag 克服时差 ── 别吃飞机餐

For years, weary travelers have been cursing the side effect of severe tiredness after a long flight, wishing there were some magic pills to make it all go away. Now, researchers have found sacrificing your in-flight meals can help lessen the effects of jet lag.

多年来，疲惫的旅客老是抱怨长途飞行之后，严重倦怠所带来的副作用。他们希望有神奇药丸可以让疲惫全消失不见。而今，研究人员发现只要在飞行途中不进食，就可以减缓时差所造成的影响。

Our bodies are governed by a “master clock” – which more or less coincides with a 24-hour day. This clock generally controls our eating and sleeping habits based on daylight. However, scientists have discovered that a separate clock called the “feeding clock” can sometimes trick the body’s master clock. They found that if a person is slightly hungry, he is less likely to be tired. So, avoiding food on the flight should help counter the effects of jet lag. For instance, for long-distance travel, a fasting period of 16 hours may cause you to arrive at your destination hungrier, but you should adjust to your new time zone much more quickly as a result.

Da Vinci’s Long-Lost Lady Fetches Billions! 达文西真迹再现价值连城

What if you one day realized that the artwork in your living room was actually the long-lost work of a master? One lucky man experienced just that, as experts now believe his 500-year-old drawing is the work of famous Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci.
